About Me

For as long as I can remember, I have felt like a writer. As a little girl, I wrote down tidbits of conversations and tiny poems on crinkled pieces paper, and stuffed them in my pockets.  Once I entered high school, I knew I would love to pursue a career in teaching English, and began working as a high school English teacher in 2005. The merging of my two passions has served as true inspiration for the Confused Dudes Series.  In this children's book, I wanted to create an engaging, comical story that also taught an essential lesson in the uses of language.  It is my hope that elementary age children will laugh and learn along with the lovable and spooky story loving, DJ and Parker.  

When I am not teaching or writing, I am spending time with my husband, three young children, and two rambunctious puppies! I love the outdoors, and my favorite season is the fall - the colors, the crunch of leaves, the smell - I love it all.  You can often find my family walking through an arboretum, hanging out in our backyard, or planning our new halloween decorations.
